Topics of Discussion:

Fire Hydrants – Fred would like to cut some costs on 19 hydrants and see how the costs of the project are going. Hydrants cost and estimated $2,500 per hydrant. Specs package includes 19 fire hydrants. Water will be available but not recognized fire flow at these hydrants.

Tank Bottom – 4” to 8” tank penetration- 8” stub is rotten out and water is weeping through the welds. Back flow preventer was Rich concern. Lack of room and space is a concern for Rich two boosters going into an altitude valve.  Mercoid valve and bigger check valves. Instead of a pressure regulating valve.  Fred presented a picture with each independent pump having a check valve.

Interior Tank Painting – Epoxy Coating DEP approved will be used to apply to interior of the main tanks. Pumps will be running and temporary tanks will be used on site to balance the system.  VFD‘s will be used to balance the system on single phase motor. Fred is going to respond after investigating and will provide more information.

Two storage tanks will need to be on site and locations. This will be a concern on the location of these two storage tanks while painting the tanks.

Generators – Flood stage level at Trout Brook is 4-5’

Contractors - in bid package will clean up brush area and finish off to bid package.

Mountain Ave Well Head – Needs to be raised 1’ on annual inspection, must be raised on new project. Fred has noted this. New Bilbo Door and some type of retaining wall to eliminate any future problem of erosion. Fred read landscaping spec from bid package.

Brookwood Well is the largest and back up generators.

All pipes will be brass or cooper.

Buildings will be painted and added into bid package.

Space for chlorine.

Fuel Storage Tank location – was recommended to use propane for the generators at the three locations. Fred is going to get back on storage of fuel for back up generators. Fred is familiar with diesel because diesel storage is below the motor of the generator

Painting, new pipes coming out of tank, vault will be replaced and new set of step with new bloc door.

Well Cap – Room is a concern for a chlorinator.

Diversion Permit – Fred will check into gallon usage.

Test Pump - Fred add to test pump the wells for quantity. This will be done with a 72 hours pump test for a diversion permit. Wells were never test with a 72 hours pump test.

Brookwood Well - Generator space is concern. Association owns the cement block but town owns the property.

Trout brook Well – New door, painting and roof.  Concern about cement floor will have to be removed. Currently pipes rise from the floor.
